James O. Lloyd-Smith

Title: Associate Professor
Work: Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, UCLA, CA, USA

Dr. Lloyd-Smith is Associate Professor at the Deptartment of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles. His interest lies in ecology and evolution of infectious diseases, focusing on zoonotic and emerging pathogens, effects of heterogeneity in host populations, and integrating dynamics across scales.

Research background

Ecological and evolutionary dynamics of infectious diseases, focusing on zoonoses at the animal-human interface, host jumps, drug resistance, and integrating dynamics across disciplines and scales. Current study systems include leptospirosis in California, monkeypox in central Africa, and drug resistance evolution in hepatitis C virus.
